Carifree – “New Discoveries in Dental Care”
Our office has begun a new cavity prevention program using a new
identification and treatment system for decay-causing bacteria. New
science has discovered the cause of cavities through research that
allows us to test and recommend treatment for the prevention of
tooth decay. The CariFree program tests the level of harmful
bacteria in your mouth by a simple swab of your teeth and reading
the results in a minute using a special meter device. We can offer
the test at your cleaning appointment or any time you come to see
us.
Why is this important? Studies have shown that even
with good brushing and flossing habits, harmful levels of
decay-causing bacteria may still be present. Worse yet, these
harmful bacteria can be transmitted to other members of your
household.
What if you have high levels of these bacteria?
CariFree has developed rinses that change the environment in your
mouth that makes it difficult for the harmful bacteria to survive.
Once the population of these decay-causing bacteria is replaced with
the “good”
bacteria, the rate of tooth decay slows to a stop. Studies have
shown that people, who were at high risk of tooth decay, once
treated, have decreased or eliminated tooth decay completely!
